Granville Rowland and Fannie Windrow
Granville Rowland and Nancy Featherston

Granville M. Rowland was the eldest son of William Rowland and Elizabeth Brown. He was born on 19 January 1847 in Rutherford County; he died on 19 January 1924 in the town of Chapel HIll in Marshall Co, TN. Granville married twice, both times in Rutherford County. He first married Fannie Vashti Windrow on 13 September 1875. Fannie was born in 1851 in Rutherford County and died around 1883. She was Granville's second cousin, and was the daughter of John Byars Windrow and Jane W. Traylor.

After Fannie's death, Granville married Nancy Frances Featherston on 25 November 1884; she was born on 18 August 1863 and died on 23 March 1937 in Chapel Hill. Nancy was the daughter of (possibly) Presley Featherston and Elizabeth Harris.

While census records indicate Granville attended school for a while as a child, as an adult he could not sign his name in legal documents, and instead signed with a mark. According to the 1900 census, Nancy had borne five children, but only four were still alive at the time of the census. According to a deed in 1935, by which Nancy and her surviving children deeded an acre to her widowed daughter-in-law, Ada, Lonnie was living in Seattle, Washington, although we have not been able to locate any further information about him.
