Mary E. Rowland and John F. Jones
Mary E. Rowland was born in 1848 and died sometime between the 1880's (when she was listed in Coffee County tax records) and 1900; her mother, Elizabeth, told census enumerators that year that she had borne 5 children, but that only 3 were still alive, and Melissa, James, and Maranda were all still living at that time. Mary married John F. Jones on 17 Nov 1870 in Coffee County; his parents have not yet been identified. After John died, Mary remained in Coffee County and was listed in tax records as owning 17 acres and living next door to her mother and sister Melissa Tucker. She apparently married her widowed brother-in-law, Henry H. Duncan, on 4 February 1889 in Coffee County; a marriage was recorded between H.H. Duncan and Mary E. Jones on that date.
