Obituary of Johanna (McCarthy) Houlihan
Mrs. Johanna Houlihan: The funeral of Mrs. Johanna (McCarthy) Houlihan, 83, widow of Bartolomew Houlihan, who died Monday night at the home of her daughter, Mary E., wife of Thomas A. Hickey, 1 Westminster street, will be there Thursday morning. A solemn high mass of requiem will be celebrated in St. Bernard’s Church at 10 o’clock. Burial will be in St. JOhn’s Cemetery.
She was born in Bally Trasna parish, of Ballyhar, County Kerry, Ireland, daughter of John and Catherine (Sullivan) McCarthy.
Besides her daughter, Mrs. Houlihan is survived by three sons, John F. and Eugene F. Houlihan of Worcester and James A. Houlihan of Oakland, Cal; 14 grandchildren; one great grandchild, and several nephews and nieces in Ireland and this country. She was a member of the Married Ladies Sodality of the Church of the Ascension.
