Catherine "Kate" Gough and William McNulty
Catherine Gough is the youngest child of Peter Gough and Letitia Naulty, and was born on 13 June 1852 probably in Hazleton. A schoolteacher (according to the 1870 census), she married William McNulty probably around 1874. Catherine died about six weeks after her youngest child -- Mary -- was born; her two young sons, Peter and John, also died in the late 1870s.
The widowed William was enumerated in Hazleton in 1880 with his small daughter, his (apparently) widowed sister Bridget O'Donnell and her children; sadly, William then died in 1889, leaving Mary an orphan. She appears to have remained in Hazleton the rest of her life, ultimately marrying Samuel Brill in 1909, with whom she had three children (John, William, and Catherine); she and Samuel are both buried at St. Gabriel's Cemetery in Hazleton.
We have no further information about the family at this point.
