Rose McGeehan and Peter McGlynn
Rose McGeehan was identified as the sister of Hugh McGeehan (see his obituary) and may have been the eldest (known) daughter of John and Mary McGeehan. After leaving Ireland, Rose married Peter McGlynn, another Irish immigrant, probably around 1856 in the Hazleton area. As were so many who came to Luzerne County, Peter was a coal miner, and he and Rose had only two children before he died sometime in the 1870s. After Peter's death, Rose lived with her daughter, Bridget, and son-in-law Daniel Harkins (born 1853, Ireland) and their six children (Rose, Frank, Winifred, William, Nellie, and Jennie). Rose's son James appears to have died sometime between 1870 and 1880; in her will, Rose mentions only her daughter, Bridget.
