John Houlihan and Mary Agnes Lowrey
John and Mary Agnes met and married in Worcester, MA, where they were born and lived throughout their lives. They were parishioners at the Church of the Immaculate Conception and at Our Lady of Fatima Church [parish now closed] in Worcester.
As a young man, John worked as a spring maker at one of Worcester's spring factories but then began a career at the US Postal Service, where he worked for 30 years, ultimately becoming a supervisor. John was very active in his community and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, National Association of Postal Supervisors, United National Association of Post Office Clerks and the Catholic Order of Foresters.
Mary also was quite active, particularly in her parish community, where she was a member of the Catholic Woman’s Club, the Guild of Our Lady of Providence and the Woman’s Club of Our Lady of Fatima Church.
